Practice-oriented Studies is Always Our Focus, Dr. P.Sathyanarayanan, President, SRM university

SRM University is best known for its engineering programme. What do you think are its salient features?

Since the outset, we have kept our eyes focused on one thing- to deliver 21st-century engineers who are driven by passion, innovation, and imagination. Engineering is not just a science. It is an art as well. Students at SRM University are taught to think beyond the four walls of the classroom and their textbook binders.

Prof. William C. Oakes, Director, Purdue University, USA, Dr. M. Kantha Reddy, Adjunct Director – Accreditation, ABET, USA and Dr. T. Lakshmi, Chief Consultant, Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) visited SRM University, AP – Amaravati.

“No subject can be mastered in isolation to other subjects,” explains Prof. Janaki Bakhle, the author of Two Men and Music: Nationalism and the Making of an Indian Classical Tradition. Often described as the writer of brave history, Prof. Bakhle’s work touches the cultural and intellectual roots of modern tensions between India’s religious and ethnic communities. She currently teaches in the University of California, Berkeley and is one of the team members designing the path-breaking, innovative curriculum of School of Liberal Arts and Basic Sciences (SLABS) of SRM University, AP- Amaravati.

A German Delegation Visited SRM University AP, Amaravati on 13th April 2018 and discussed about the possible collaborations between SRM University AP, Amaravati and German Universities.

Dr. Daniel Hahn, Sr. Expert – Mechatronics & Robotics, explained about the research happening in the field of Industrial Robotics in Germany and expressed interest to have collaboration in the field of Industrial Robotics.

Guntur MP Jayadev Galla exhorted the youth to figure out what they plan to do at least in the next two decades to position themselves accordingly now itself and to be prepared to enter the real world from the comfort of their homes where their parents would not be around to take care of them.
