Overview

The focus of this 3-day conference is to discuss the recent developments and future challenges in the multiphase flow, dynamics of fracture, recent problems in soft matter from a point of view of statistical mechanics and non-linear physics. This will be a highly interdisciplinary meeting encompassing various evolving areas of physics, including condensed matter, geophysics, physics of disordered systems, as well as material design. An insight into the underlying processes involves physical descriptions and modelling across large length-scales, bringing forth researchers, from theory and experiments, across disciplines with varying expertise to develop a common understanding. Fracmeet 2025 plans to bring together researchers from diverse fields, and its focus would be to discuss the recent developments and future challenges in the upscaling process, and in particular the role of statistical and non-linear physics. Importantly, this meeting will provide graduate students, as well as seasoned researchers the necessary exposure to the ongoing research in the field, and ample opportunities for networking.
