National Sports Day Celebration Commences at SRM AP

SRM University-AP observes National Sports Day in honour of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand’s birth anniversary. The theme for this years’ Sports Day 2025 is “Har Gali Har Maidaan, Khelein Sara Hindustan.” This initiative, coordinated by the National Sports Authority of India in partnership with FIT India Mission and the Indian Olympic Association, supports India’s ambition to host the Olympic Games in 2036.
In conjunction with the ongoing celebrations that commenced on August 26, 2025, and will conclude on August 29, 2025, the university is organising a range of team and individual sports events. Team sports will include Kabaddi and Tug-of-War, while individual events will feature the 100-meter run and shot put.
Following the events, there will be a celebratory prize distribution ceremony honouring the performances of all participants on August 29, 2025. This event aims not only to recognise individual and team achievements but also to create a sense of pride within the university community.
