Dr V Koul is a seasoned professional with 23 years of experience in sports education and development, specialising in driving athlete performance, program success, and organisational efficiency. His ability and vision to organise and administrate, while at the same time encourage sportspersons to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence, marks him as visionary leader committed to institutional excellence. His educational qualification encompasses Master’s in Physical Education, MBA in Sports Management and a Ph.D. in Health and Fitness from Nagpur University. With his extensive knowledge of competitive sports and training methodology, Dr Koul introduces expert instruction and administration skills in to ensure smooth operations and maximum productivity.
His tenure at Lovely Professional University for over 9 years witnessed him leading the helm as the Professor/Associate/Deputy Director of Physical Education and Sports. Under his leadership, the university exceled in various international and national championships including the prestigious Olympic Games. During his tenure, 22 LPU students represented India at the Paris Olympics 2024, 15 LPU students represented India at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 with 15 athletes being awarded the prestigious Arjuna Award.
On a national-level, Dr Koul organised 10 National/State Championships in multiple sports, including Softball (twice), Wushu, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Bodybuilding, and Cricket, coordinated 2 national camps and hosted 8 workshops across sports such as Judo, Wushu, Softball, Badminton, Cricket, Shooting, Bodybuilding, and American Football.
As a fully committed, accomplished administrator and educator, Dr Koul has played a critical role in developing and implementing curriculum, syllabus, academic policies, and schemes for various Physical Education programs, including CPEd, BPE, BPEd, MPEd, and M.Phil.
Dr Koul also served as a member of 5 Sports Federations of India, contributing to the development and governance of national sports policies and also contributed to university governance as a member of the Academic Board and Discipline Committee of LPU, supporting academic integrity and policy development.
