The signing ceremony, which took place at the SRM University-AP campus, brought together key representatives from all three parties. The MOU outlines a comprehensive operational framework, detailing the roles and expectations of each participant, and sets a clear roadmap for successful partnership.
As per the agreement, SRM University-AP will be responsible for identifying and providing the names and qualifications of students eligible for employment opportunities in Japan. This initiative marks a significant step in promoting international career pathways for students, particularly in engineering fields. Cognavi India will act as an intermediary, facilitating communication between SRM University-AP and Forum Engineering Inc., which will ultimately be responsible for hiring and selecting candidates for positions within its organisation.

Upskilling “You” to Enhance Career Opportunities
Creating a roadmap for learning and constantly upskilling oneself is essential to achieving career growth and stability. The interactive session conducted on July 06, 2024, by the Directorate of Alumni Relations and the Directorate of CR & CS emphasised this very requirement. The alumni of the institute, Mr Rajesh Yemineni, B.Tech. CSE Class of 2024, currently working as a Program Associate at Wells Fargo, and Ms Uppuluri Vaishnavi, B.Tech. CSE Class of 2024, Associate Software Engineer at Service Now, delivered a wonderful session with participants leaving with pro tips to crack interviews and designing their own roadmap to success by choosing their specialisations and courses.
The talk helped students create a comprehensive roadmap to ensure a structured approach to learning. Prioritisation of topics with a focus on DSA, DBMS, OS, and CN was discussed to build a strong foundation in core CSE subjects. The alumni also encouraged students to practice coding problems and projects, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios to gain practical experience and build a portfolio.
The alumni also shared tips and tricks for overcoming interviews and flying with passing colours. From breaking down complex problems to practising coding problems and projects, these insightful tips ensured that our students would be ready to take on their desired career paths. Staying updated with industry trends and advancements to remain competitive in the job market was also prioritised.
The session concluded with the alumni encouraging students to step out of their comfort zones and challenge themselves, pushing beyond current limits to achieve growth and success and developing a growth mindset.

SRM AP Signs MoU with Human Resocia to Create Employment Opportunities in Japan for Students
SRM University-AP has signed an MoU with Human Resocia to facilitate employment and job opportunities for university students in Japan. This collaborative agreement partners HR to provide all the necessary facilities required for students to pursue career opportunities in Japan.
The MoU signing ceremony, organised yesterday, was honoured by esteemed individuals, including Prof. Manoj K Arora, Vice Chancellor of SRM University-AP, Dr M S Vivekanandan, Director of CRCS, Prof. C V Tomy, Dean SEAS, Mr Laxmanan Angu Raju, AGM of CRCS, Mr K Jotish Kumar, CEO of SRM Global, along with representatives from Human Resocia (HR) such as Mr Takeshi Tominaga, Mr Yuji Sakaguchi, Mr Taketo Fukuda, Mr Kagotani Takuya, and Mr Senthil Sellappan.

“Destination Japan”- An Indo-Japanese Alliance for International Recruitment of SRM AP Graduates
SRM University-AP, with its uniquely curated “Destination Japan” program for its highly skilled Engineering & Non-engineering Students, is an initiative by the university to address the growing demand for human resources in Japan. The ‘Destination Japan’ program provides well-equipped engineers with valuable industry skills and well acquainted with Japanese culture. Under the programme, students are trained in the Japanese language, Japanese traditions, and work culture from the first year onwards, which helps them easily assimilate into the country’s workforce. The initiative also welcomes reputed companies from Japan to directly hire skilled engineering graduates from core engineering fields to enhance their manpower.
SRM University–AP has also signed MOUs with multiple universities in Japan for faculty & student exchange programs, collaborative R&D projects, Hi-tech & innovative labs and other academic initiatives complementing the “ Destination Japan “ program.
To further enhance this mutual alliance, the Director of Corporate Relations & Career Services of SRM AP, Dr Vivekanandan M S, has visited prospective companies and industries in Hamamatsu, Japan, during which he presented the stellar record of engineering graduates being nurtured at the varsity and the possible partnership for recruitment and employment.
SRM University-AP has also signed an agreement with the Shizuoka Government to foster Indo-Japanese academic and recruitment partnerships. These partnerships enable internships in Japanese organisations, admissions to universities for higher studies, and good career placement opportunities for their students in Japan.
Under the “Destination Japan” program, direct campus recruitment has begun with the visit of recruitment teams from two reputed Japanese companies, Forum Engineering Inc. and CRESCO Ltd., to hire proficient engineering graduates. This is a remarkable accomplishment for the university to ensure international placements for its students.
A recruitment team of four from CRESCO Ltd, including the Managing Director, and a team of two from Forum Engineering Inc. visited the university campus. The team included engineers, HR Executives and other professionals.
Many more Japanese companies are lined up for campus visits & recruitment in the coming months.
In an interaction with the recruitment teams from Japan, Mr Satoshi Iwami, MD of CRESCO, remarked, “As we are facing a shortage of IT engineers not only in our company but all over Japan, and with the SRM AP harbouring excellent IT engineers, we decided that an alliance would greatly benefit both parties.”
Ms Saho Funahashi, UI/UX Designer at CRESCO, said, “The students’ Japanese skills have impressed me. SRM University-AP has helped students understand the practical way of studying engineering through its impressive resources. This would greatly benefit them in a techno-driven country like Japan.”

Anheuser-Busch InBev offered 6 months internship, followed by a job offer to outstanding candidates. The company shortlisted Pesala Sai Tanmayi, Sri Harsha Tavidisetty Rajendra, Tuhin Sarkar, and Koushik M Bhargav. Anheuser -Busch InBev SA/NV, commonly known as AB InBev is a Belgian multinational drink and brewing company. The company has offered an internship stipend of 30 thousand per month and a CTC of 12-17 LPA to the candidates who will join the company after successful completion of their internship.
Another renowned company Health Rx, which innovates and develops secure web-based and mobile solutions to streamline information flow in the clinical and research environments, has offered Technical Internship with a stipend of 35 thousand per month, and post that a confirmed job offer with CTC of 12 LPA to Talari Hrisheekesh, and Gude Abhin. PayPal recruits Sai Rishvanth Katragadda
Sai Rishvanth Katragadda, Final year, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh shone in the recruitment drive conducted for the first outgoing batch of the university. Sai Rishvanth got selected by the recruiters of PayPal who offered the brilliant student a package of 24 LPA for the position of Software Engineer. PayPal is a reputed company that provides a worldwide online payment system, online money transfers, and serves as an electronic alternative to traditional paper methods.
Sai Rishvanth has consistently exhibited his mettle in academics and has been scoring excellently in all the examinations conducted by SRM AP. He was also selected by the university to visit the University of California, Berkeley for the Semester Abroad Programme. Amazon selects Venkata Sai Nikhith Nagamlla, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SRM University AP, Andhra Pradesh for a 6-month internship which can be converted into a job offer with a CTC of 29.5 LPA for the position of System Development Engineer. Khushboo Sharma is one of the brightest gems in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. She is currently pursuing her third year in undergraduate studies. She has recently bagged an envious summer internship offer at one of the most reputed companies- Adobe India, a multinational software company. SRM University-AP and GWFM organised National Human Resource Conclave-2021
SRM University-AP organised the grandest National HR Conclave-2021, the grandest conglomerate of Human Resource experts, on February 27, 2021, in association with the Global Workforce Management Forum. The theme of the conclave for this year was “Leading the Disruption- The HR Agenda for 2021 “. Senior Human Resource Leaders from reputed companies such as KPMG, Airbus, IBM, Informatica, Standard Chartered Bank, Flipkart, Shriram Bio-seeds, NCC Ltd, NOKIA, Infosys BPO, Volvo Group, Reliance Jio, Western Digital, Visa, Accenture, Grant Thornton LLP, Xperi Corp, Western Digital, Kromozones Software Pvt. Ltd, Shriram Bioseeds, SS&C Technologies delivered keynote speeches and participated in Panel Discussions in the daylong event.
The event was started with the opening remarks of Prof V S Rao, Vice-Chancellor, SRM University-AP. In his speech, Prof Rao explained briefly how disruptive innovation had benefitted several industries such as the telecom and communication industry, automobile industry and others so far. It is high time to explore the opportunities in the Human Resource sector. “Covid-19 has provided us with many opportunities. Post-COVID era is the era of changed perspective and innovation, enabling the commoners to reap the benefits of technology,” said Prof Rao. He also stated the University encourages students to make use of the opportunities such as undergrad research, semester abroad program, student run-tech labs, etc to enhance their creative and innovative thinking.
Advancing the proceedings of the event, the founders of GWFM gave a brief understanding of their organisational structure and operations. Global Workforce Management Forum, founded in June 2014 by Dr Shiva Kumar and Partho Ganguly, is the world’s first WFM Forum. It is a non-profit professional organisation comprising of a group of Senior WFM & HR professionals committed to promoting the WFM movement on the global platform. Mr Ganguly set the tone for the conclave by addressing the present stagnation in Human Resource and opportunities to move forward.
In the first Keynote speech of the conclave Mr Unmesh Pawar, Partner – People Performance & Culture- KPMG India, explained how workforce reshaping is going to be a key element as we move forward. COVID-19 has changed the HR perspective globally. Mr Pawar took some realistic examples from whatever is happening worldwide and how it is creating shifts in overall organisational behaviour and operations.
The event progressed with a few panel discussions. Commenting on the importance of Digital, Data and Disruptions, the panel agreed that data analytics is crucial in today’s world, where we are standing on the verge of digital transformation. Predictive data analysis is being used to make business decisions. It is very important to have a sharp and clear objective to move forward in this field with countless opportunities.
Advancing into the event, Mr Suraj Chetri, Director HR Airbus India illuminated the audience with his strategic keynote on The Future of HR. “Start-ups are the future. Larger conglomerates will break into smaller companies with the abolishment of hierarchy. A lot of focus will be in healthcare and safety with special emphasis on mental health,” said Mr Chetri. According to him, a smart workplace is going a play a major role in the future. Technology will support employees to carry out several activities in a seamless way. It is going to impact the workplace culture and office management. Machine learning, data-driven automation, physical as well as virtual connectivity and Team collaborations are going to sustain in the future.
In another discussion on HR strategies to build flexibility, adaptability, and agility, the panel agreed on that every crisis goes through a time of recovery. This is a recovery phase. What is needed is adaptability as a skill. People are now looking for adaptability as the most important tool and hiring criteria. There are many tools and technologies to aid the recruitment process. But that is for ease of administration. More important is how one positions himself? Students should be focused from the beginning to create their own brand, deciding their selling points and USPs.
While speaking on the Future-proofing workforce 2020: Upskilling employees for future-oriented career trajectories, Mr Augustus Azariah, Human Resource Leader IBM mentioned that organisations used to build skills, capabilities, competencies, risk appetite among the employees. These skills are now being used to stay afloat in the storm called COVID-19. Analytics says storm riders are highly adaptable, willing to take risks with the resilience to get teams together. “If we walk through a journey of how HR has evolved over the years, we will find that it used to be process-driven, but now it is experiential and result- oriented. Conversion of data into actionable insights, design thinking, awareness of market trends, proactive learning and upskilling are the tools that employees of the future will need. To be an essential part of the future, one has to be digitally aware with a work experience consistent with his customers’ experience along with proper sensitisation in the workplace with the changed demographics,” advised Mr Azariah.
Over 25 Human Resource experts joined the conclave to share their view and usher in the way forward for the students. the conclave provided food for thought for the fellow recruiters as well as the students were highly motivated to listen to the experts speaking on real time problems with a solution. Undergrad CSE student bags envious placement offer with a CTC of 20 Lakh LPA
Another proud moment for SRM University-AP when Kattamuri Sai Krishna Rohith bagged an envious job offer from ODCEM Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (OneDirect) with a CTC of 20 Lakhs per annum. He is pursuing his B. Tech final year in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Mr Rohith will be joining the company as an intern for six months with monthly compensation of Rs. 20,000. After six months of internship, he will be offered the permanent employee as a Full Stack Developer with a CTC of Rs. 20,00,000 per annum.
Mr Rohith went through rigorous placement training programmes conducted by the Department of Corporate Relations and Career Services to secure the job offer. The job hiring process for this role was conducted in four stages. After preliminary selection, Mr Rohith had to prove his ability in coding, aptitude and other technical domains. The Director of Engineering himself took the final call before offering him a position in the company to see if Rohith is a proper fit for their company.
Rohith expressed his gratitude towards the CR & CS department of SRM University-AP, saying that the training sessions strengthened his core skills and abilities. He was also taught to face interviews and critical questions. Mr Rohith said, “Placement is an arduous process. I was offered another position in other company before, but I was not happy with that offer. I had faith in my abilities, so I continued searching for better opportunities and improve my skill set to secure the Super Dream offer. Keeping nerves in control, not panicking during interviews, excellent communication skills are some essential qualities that everyone should master to get good jobs. I am thankful to the CR & CS department for all their support and customised, personal, need-based assistance, which helped me a lot to prepare for the interviews,” said Mr Rohith.
After five months of determination, Mr Rohith finally secured the job that he was looking for. “The University has provided us with numerous opportunities with a flexible curriculum and Global standards. In addition to all the training, my mentors encouraged me to participate in Hackathons, apply for research internships, and attend conferences. Thanks to the extraordinary faculty that we have, the regular classes were of great help in enhancing my technical knowledge,” asserted Mr Rohith. Mr Rohith was a proud track-winner of Microsoft and EthDenver hackathons and a research Intern at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore.
He has shared his mantra to success with his fellows. Mr Rohith believes that instead of panicking or comparing with others, one should focus on becoming a better version of oneself, and the success will find him.
