Webinar on “Inspiring Innovation at SRM University with IEEE Research”
Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh will be hosting a webinar on “Inspiring Innovation at SRM University with IEEE Research” in collaboration with IEEE Student Branch, SRM University-AP and IEEE Guntur Subsection on 1st July 2020.
The webinar is aimed at helping faculty and students (UG, PG, and research scholars) to discover yet-to-explore research issues pertinent to respective research domains. The webinar will enable students to explore the important information on IEEE Xplore (IEEE.org in general) site which will assist them to get better placement opportunities — through an in-depth knowledge regarding the research work being conducted by companies and organizations. The session will also introduce the advance facilities available for authors on IEEE site such as IEEE Authors Tools, author notifications etc. Other aspects include how to make quick decisions on choosing the right paper from an ocean of research articles on the internet, how to assess the impact of the research article and much more.
Coordinated by Dr. Manjula R, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, the webinar will commence with a welcome note and Prof. Ragunathan T, head, Department of CSE, will precede the event with opening remarks. Followed by, Dr. Dhanukumar Pattanashetti, will take over the session.

Dr Tousif Khan N, who was very recently honoured with APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial International Travel Award for his remarkable research on “Online adaptive fast output voltage tracking in DC power supply system”, will be joining the participants to share his research experience with them. Dr Khan is the Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering and internationally acclaimed for his impactful research. Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh organizes workshop on “Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Healthcare” in collaboration with IEEE-SRM AP Student Branch. Prof. D. Narayana Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor will inaugurate the workshop on 25th July, 2020 at 9:30 am with the opening remarks. Dr. Muralikrishna Voonna, Managing Director, Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital & Research Institute will deliver a Guest Lecture on “Impact of AI in Clinical Healthcare”. Further, during the session, Guest Lecturer, Dr. Rajiv Janardhanan, Director, Amity Institute of Public Health, Professor ACVB will be speaking on “Sustainable Healthcare: AI enabled platforms for Affordable and Accessible Healthcare Solutions”.
Eminent panelists such as Padma Shree Awardee – Prof. Upendra Kaul, Dr. Pooja Ramakant, Dr. Sunil Taneja, Dr. Muralikrishna Voonna, and Dr. Rajiv Janardhanan will be interacting on “Impact of Covid-19, AI on Healthcare”. The Newsmakers: An interview with Dr Somesh on his journey as a researcher
Dr Somesh Vinayak Tiwari, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, joins The Newsmakers session on 25th July 2020 at 5 pm. Dr Somesh Vinayak Tiwari was awarded the prestigious “Outstanding Doctoral Students Award”, from Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) at an event held at the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) Convention Centre, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai. Dr Tewari was presented this award for his excellent PhD thesis titled “Study of surface flashover of insulator in gases at high pressure.” In the session of The Newsmaker, he will be interviewed by Dr Anuj Deshpande, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, on his journey as a doctoral scholar and researcher.

IIRS-ISRO 64-Outreach Programme on “Basics of Remote Sensing Geographical Information and Global Navigation Satellite System”
SRM University AP-Andhra Pradesh’s association with the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) -Indian Space Research Organization(ISRO)’s outreach programme will enable our students to attend the 64-Outreach Programme on “Basics of Remote Sensing Geographical Information and Global Navigation Satellite System” to be held from 17th August 2020 till 20th November 2020. “ECE in industry” – Talk Series 01
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, SRM University-AP, Andhra Pradesh introduces “ECE in industry” programme, which will comprise of a series of talk by eminent industry experts. On 5th September,2020 at 5 p.m., Mr. Hanumanth Managoli has been invited to deliver a talk on “Advancements and Career Opportunities in Embedded and Automotive Embedded Systems”. Mr. Managoli is the Principal Consultant at Pi Square Technologies India, a Michigan based futuristic Automotive Embedded Engineering and Consulting company having association with top-notch suppliers in Automotive Industry.
Mr. Managoli possess 35 years of industry experience in various companies operating in the public and private sector. Being associated with the Indian Space Research Organization’s Satellite Centre (ISAC) as a Scientist, he worked on 2nd generation INSAT series of spacecraft. He then moved to be the founding member of the India Centre for PLC system-and-software development group at Asea Brown Boveri (ABB). Mr. Managoli is also proficient in Software Engineering Process frameworks and Standards such as CMMi, AutoSPICE, Functional Safety standards of ISO26262, IEC61508 & UL1998.
