SRM University AP (SRMAP) is located in Amaravati, which is being developed as the capital of the state Andhra Pradesh after bifurcation. Vijayawada, a major city with an Airport, Railway station and inter- state bus stand is about 30 km from Amaravati on one side. On the other side, at about 30km is Guntur which has a railway station and inter-state bus stand.

For International Participants

If you book a ticket directly to Vijayawada, you may have to wait in one of the airports in India for several hours. If you would like to avoid that we suggest the following:

Please note that breaking the journey means you cannot book your luggage directly to Vijayawada. So please decide whether flying directly or breaking into two parts works better for you.

We hope to be able to pick up most of the participants from Vijayawada Airport. If for some reason we are not able to do so, please take a cab from the airport to where your accommodation is booked.

For participants from India

By Air

Nearest airport: Vijayawada International Airport (Gannavaram) – 40.7 km from SRMAP

Travel time: Approximately 45–50 minutes to the university and it will be less if you accommodation is booked in a hotel.

Transport options: Taxis and ride-hailing services (Ola, Uber) readily available

We may be able to organise pick up for the participants if many arrive at the same time.

By Rail

Vijayawada Junction – 24 km

Mangalagiri Railway Station – 12 km

Guntur Junction – 29.6 km (via Amaravathi Road/Guntur)

Taxis and auto-rickshaws available for last-mile connectivity

If there are many participants arriving at the same time, we may be able to arrange a pickup.

By Road

SRMAP is 13.4 km from AIIMS Mangalagiri, a key landmark for travelers

Regular inter-state bus services (APSRTC, TSRTC, private carriers) connect major cities:

Private buses usually stop at Guntur RTC Bus Station, Kaza Toll Plaza, and Vijayawada

Pick-up Services

Limited pick-ups will be arranged from airport, railway stations, and bus stands
