Workshop on Gravitational Waves and LIGO India

Organised by the Center for Astrophysics, Gravitation & Cosmology (CAGC), SRM University Sikkim & The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy & Astrophysics (IUCAA), SRM University-AP will be hosting the Workshop on Gravitational Forces and LIGO India on September 10-14, 2025.
The workshop aims to foster a deep understanding of gravitational-wave (GW) astrophysics, data analysis techniques and the fundamentals of GW instrumentation among young participants. The workshop will feature a series of lectures, demonstration and hands-on sessions that delve into essential topics such as general relativity, source modeling, GW detectors, calibration, detector characterization, search methodologies, and parameter estimation.
Targeted at Ph.D. students in their first or second year of study in Physics, Astrophysics, Mathematics, or any field of engineering, Master’s (MSc/MS), Integrated MSc/MS (4th/5th year) students in Physics, Mathematics, Electronics, Applied Physics, Instrumentation Science, and Computer Science, as well as final-year Engineering (B.Tech/BE) and M.Tech/ME students interested in GW Science, the workshop will provide participants with a comprehensive foundation in both theoretical concepts and computational tools that drive current research.
