Welcome to the Mathematics Department!

As the Head of the Mathematics Department, I am delighted to introduce you to our vibrant community. The Department of Mathematics at SRM University-AP came into existence in 2017, and it gives me immense pleasure that in such a short span of time, the Department has shown a remarkable contribution in the development of Mathematics through continuous and consistent efforts.

The Department of Mathematics is focused on high-quality research and committed to building on the solid foundations of mathematics while pushing the boundaries of what is possible through research and interdisciplinary collaboration. Our goal is to not only impart knowledge but also to inspire a lifelong love for mathematics in our students.

Our faculty is a diverse group of approximately 35 accomplished academicians, each bringing a wealth of expertise from renowned institutions such as the IITs, IISC, HRI, ISI, IMSC, and other prestigious universities both in India and abroad. At present, the Department has expertise in the broad areas of Mathematics, Algebra, Analysis, Differential Equations, Number Theory, and Statistics.

The Department offers a variety of programmes to meet the diverse interests and career aspirations of our students. We offer a unique 4-year B.Sc. Mathematics programme, and after successful completion of the B.Sc. programme, students can directly take admission for the PhD programme in India and abroad. Whether your passion lies in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, data science, or industrial mathematics, our BSc, MSc, and PhD programmes provide the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in your chosen field.

To create a research-intensive environment, the department organises various activities like Weekly seminars, International Conferences, Workshops, Faculty Development Programs (FDP), National Mathematics Day, etc. Apart from generous in-house funding, the department has been successful in receiving funding from funding agencies such as the National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. Our faculty members are well-trained to mentor and support both PhD and postdoctoral researchers.
